Implants – Surgical procedure

The placement of implants made by a specialist oral surgeon and specialist support staff. The process has the characteristics of a localized surgery in the mouth. You need antisepsis (sterile surgical field) and is performed under local anesthesia (as at tooth extraction).

The surgical procedure is a simple procedure for the well-trained surgeon and the patient does not hurt. The duration of a single implant placement may not request more than 35 minutes, including the preparation of materials and tools-machines.

After placing the implants the patient can immediately the next day to continue their normal activities of life, without problems, just like after tooth extraction. You only need to take antibiotics and antimicrobial mouthwash solutions for approximately ten days.

Modern equipment and progress in the field of implants has today opened new horizons allowing reconstruction with implants and in complex cases, such as lack of density and quality of bone in the jaw, such as osteoporosis and osteopenia.

With the current data, the use of implants have high success rates and encouraged their use even under large bridges with many pieces (teeth) and also under dentures as anchors, replacing the conventional full denture (dentures).
